India's growth hits decade-low of 5%

Growth of the Indian economy hit a decade low of 5% in 2012-13 on account of dismal shows by the three major sectors — agriculture, manufacturing and mining. Growth in Q4 of 2012-13 rose marginally to 4.8%, compared with 5.4% in the first and 5.2% in the second quarter of 2012-13. The Q4 growth was significantly lower than the 5.1% expansion achieved in the January-March quarter of 2011-12 when GDP growth for the entire financial year was 6.2%.
