The choice of planting material is extremely important, especially in the case of natural rubber (NR). Any compromise on the same involves potential risks associated with crop loss. And, a healthy interactive relationship between the R&D institutions and the stakeholders is a must for a judicious choice of the planting material. The productivity gains consolidated by the natural rubber sector (NR) in Asia during the past six decades are the results of such interactive relationships evolved over time.
