The NR demand is greatly driven by the autoboom. There has been high demand for tyres and auto rubber components from the vehicle manufacturing industry and the replacement tyre user segment. India is currently passing through a growth spiral in the automobile sector. Vehicle sales in 2009-10 rose 26.4% higher than the previous year's figure was 9,724,243 units. In recent years, many reputed overseas vehicle manufacturers have put up production facilities in India noticing the prospects of high growth in vehicle demand. Consequent on the growth in economy and enhanced disposable income with the middle class, considerable demand has been generated for automobiles.
