The laser speckle, non-destructive detector of tyre defects newly developed by Guangzhou SCUT Bestry Technology Co. Ltd, with its many advantages, promises to be an indispensable tool for the tyre companies The tyre's internal defect is a major factor of traffic accidents. The laser speckle detection system is the main method to detect internal defects. This paper introduces a newly developed laser speckle, non-destructive testing instrument for the detection of the internal defects of the tyres, based on the theory of nondestructive interference of the laser speckle. The paper also presents the new detector's image processing, its various functions and characteristics and the analysis of various types of defect-ex-hibiting pictures.
