VIETNAM REPORTED A dramatic increase in rubber exports during the first four months of 2010. According to official statistics, in the first four months of 2010, export turnover of rubber products reached US$ 78.03 million, going up by 98.3% against the same period of 2009. Meanwhile, import of rubber products also witnessed an increase of 28.5%, reaching US$ 87.32 million. Thanks to this, the trade gap is US$ 9.29 million only while that of the previous year was US$ 28.62 million. Vietnam Rubber Association anticipates that this year, the country's rubber export will reach 780,000 tonnes with a turnover of US$ 1.7-1.8 billion.
