Reactivity of iron(II) dichloride clathrochelate: synthesis and properties of mono- and disubstituted amino clathrochelates

lron(II) monochloromonoamino, monochloromonodimethylamino, and (amino)dimethylamino clathrochelates, viz., derivatives of the dichloride bis-alpha-benzyldioximate precursor, were synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. The dimethylamine substituents in the alpha-dioximate fragments of the clathrochelate ligands have flattened geometry due to conjugation in the amidoxime fragments.
