Automotive suppliers looking for ways to improve their returns could start by fine-tuning their quoting process, according to a new study. Suppliers underestimate their actual costs by 25 percent and make expensive errors in the quoting and bidding process, which more often than not becomes "a Friday afternoon fire drill" as they try to get the quote out the door on time.
