Kunststoffe:Mr Markhoff,prior to the takeover by Sabic,you were with GE Plastics part of a large conglomerate.Now you belong to a pure raw materials manufacturer.What has changed as a result? Markhoff:One of the most significant changes is that within the GE conglomerate,which is a public company,we were assessed primarily by the earnings per share and the quarterly results.Of course,that was a completely different rhythm than we have now under Sabic,who sees this as a long-term activity,who knows the cycles of the business,and plans accordingly.Our strategy is aimed at 2020,and is based on the firm conviction that petrochemical and polymer products represent the company's long-term future.
