After seeing almost half of low-slope roofing contractors report a dollar volume decrease in 2005, it's refreshing to see almost 57 percent enjoying a business boost this year. In addition to seeing more "green," one third of the contractors responding to RSI's 2007 "State of the Industry Report" say they have already installed a garden roof- and another 28 percent plan to. Only 11 percent of low-slope roofers suffered a drop in business this year. More importantly, 71 percent say their profits are up. Almost 40 percent report a "large" backlog of work as of November 2006, with another 50 percent sitting on a "small" surfeit of jobs.
