Monrovia - Commerce Minister Sam Wlue says there is no rice shortage on the Liberian market as being speculated in recent time. He said there are already enough quantities of three grades of rice on the general market as well as a large quantity of very high-grade type in the supermarkets for consumption. However, Minister Wlue pointed out that what is obtaining is the present unavailability of the "Butter Rice", which most consumers prefer to other types in the country. He attributed the unavailability of Butter Rice on the market to poor harvest by the producers and the high cost involved.
