In my own childhood, however, I primarily occupied myself by perusing the classifieds in this august publication and dreaming of the day I would pick up a supercar at a bargain price. In the late Seventies and early Eighties, original LP 400 Lamborghini Countaches and 365 Berlinetta Boxer Ferraris were pretty cheap. It seemed reasonable to assume that the far more desirable 5000QV and Testarossa that followed would eventually meet those cars in the bargain basement.
