Minerals of the Beekmantown Group

Overshadowed by such famous localities as Mont Saint-Hilaire and the Francon quarry in southern Quebec, or classics such as Pierrepont, DeKalb, Rossie, and Antwerp in upstate New York, it is little wonder that the minerals found in a handful of widely scattered limestone quarries in the same region have received only modest attention from mineral collectors. It is the purpose of this article to acquaint the reader with some of these lesser-known localities and the specimens they have produced.
