High alloyed duplex and austenitic stainless steels. Aspects on welding and fabrication

摘要

The paper describes how the increasing alloy content of the modern austenitic and austenitic-ferritic steels influences properties of fabrication like cold working, machining and, above all, welding. Advice regarding shielding gases, filler metals and welding technique are given. The suitability of using nickel base filler metal at welding austenitic-ferritic stainless steels is discussed.
