We all think we know about Bernard Leach and the St. Ives Pottery in England, but in this remastered and rereleased DVD of footage filmed at the pottery in the early 1950s, Warren MacKenzie's contemporary narration adds to our understanding of the legacy through his recollections of his experiences there from 1949-1952. The main footage of the DVD was taken by a local camera club in the St. Ives area, per request by Leach himself in 1952. The film documents preparing clay, the production of standard ware, the glazing procedure, loading, firing, and unloading the kiln, as well as the tea break strategy meetings.
