"Hilos," an exhibition of work by Martha Pachon Rodriguez, was recently on view at Banca di Ro-magna (www.bancadiromagna.it) in Faenza, Italy. "From the outset Martha Pachon Rodriguez's work has been characterized by its refined harmony and poetry," states curator Claudia Cassali in the English version of the exhibition catalogue, translated by Philip Curtis. "The sometimes both difficult and changeable mother-earth, has been given new meanings that recall oneiric and ancient forms, in a patient and untiring search for new, sometimes experimental, language. From this, springs a partnership that radiates an extraordinary energy, which is fascinating for its mysterious and courageous aspect in facing themes that are both intimate and personal. For some years now the artist's work has been concerned with femininity in all its forms creating intimate installations, or better profound reflections dedicated to the feminine universe, between eroticism and passion, preconception and fantasy.
