Resistance to Phytophthora fragariae (Hickman) var. rubi (Wilcox et Duncan) and agronomical characteristics of various raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) cultivars

Phytophthora root rot is one of the most important diseases of raspberry worldwide. A long-term experiment has Seen conducted in an infected plot to determine the relative sensibility of different cultivars. Rubaca, Autumn Bliss, Weirula, Sanibelle,W112, W113 and W118 were resistant, while Tulameen, Willamette and Meeker showed an intermediate resistance compared to the high sensitivity of Zeva 2. Tulameen had the most interesting characteristics. Despite some negative characters like fruit weightor hardiness, Rubaca, Autumn Bliss and Sanibelle, are recommended in situations favorable to Phytophthora root rot.
