摘要

Crimes of theft and mutilation against cultural heritage resources are being punished more severely under the 2002 revision of the federal sentencing guidelines. However, creating and distributing forgeries of these resources are not being recognized as crimes of a serious nature. This article describes several examples of how these forgeries damage cultural heritage, and calls for the inclusion of forgery as a crime against cultural heritage resources.
