Methods for assessment of cleanliness in superclean steels. Application to bearing steels

In very clean steels, like the present bearing steels, different methods have to be combined in order to assess the inclusion content. Six methods are described in this paper and their advantages and limitations are discussed. The investigated volume and the type of information obtained depend very much on the method used.
