摘要

A follow-up of 107 male federal prison inmatespreviously tested with the Psychological Inventory ofCriminal Thinking Styles (PICTS) and PsychopathyChecklist: Screening Version (PCL:SV) was conducted totest the incremental validity of both measures. The PICTSGeneral Criminal Thinking (GCT) score was found topredict general recidivism and serious recidivism whenage, prior charges, and the PCL:SV were controlled. ThePCL:SV, on the other hand, failed to predict general andserious recidivism when age, prior charges, and the PICTSwere controlled. These findings support the hypothesis thatcontent-relevant self-report measures like the PICTS arecapable of predicting crime-relevant outcomes above andbeyond the contributions of basic demographic variableslike age, criminal history, and such popular non-self-reportrating procedures as the PCL:SV.
