Overview of the conference

摘要

ThSU paper gives my reactions to some of the oral presentations at the 23rd International Conference on Nuclear Tracks in Solids held in Beijing, 11-15 September 2006. Since many of the talks were given in parallel sessions, my overview will be far from complete. The comments are organized in order of decreasing number of talks per topic, including track theory, new detectors and techniques, nuclear emulsions, automatic scanning and meaSUring, applications to nuclear reactions, astrophysics, material and geoscience, fSUsion track dating and thermochronometry, radon, radiobiology and new devices made by track techniques. I concluded with some advice and SUggestions to young scientSUts.
