A technology was developed for reprocessing of sorbents based on LiF, BaF_(2), CaF_(2), and their mixtures, used in sorption purification of UF_(6) in the course of its preparation. The technology involves breakdown of the spent sorbents in an HNO_(3) solution with the addition of an aluminum salt to bind fluoride ions and eliminate their corrosion activity, followed by extraction recovery of uranium from the resulting aqueous solution. The main parameters of the sorbent breakdown and extraction reprocessing of the solution using a solution of tributyl phosphate in a hydrocarbon diluent were determined. Examples of sorbent reprocessing are given.
