The paper describes a new technological rout of plasma processing depleted UFs terminating in obtaining compact uranium, total utilizing anhydrous hyd-rogen fluoride consisting of two stages: 1 .Primary plasma hydrogen reduction of U from UFg to lower uranium fluorides attai-ned by electrical discharge in a mixture of UF6 and H2. 2. The reduction products of UFs are transferred into condensed phase where recombi-nation processes are decelerated, and reduction process completes to formation of li-quid U at the batch subjected to simultane ous high frequency direct induction hea-ling.Because of difference in densities of U and U-fluorides, the former precipitates and the Iatters float up to the surface layer. Products of the process arc U collected in-to ingot molds and anhydrous HF. Experimental results relating to both stages afore-said which have been used for projecting a pilot plant for plasma hydrogen conversion of depleted TJFe are presented.
