Triamcinolone acetonide remaining on the fovea after successful macular hole closure.

Recently, intraocular injection of triamcinolone ace-tonide (TA) has been used during pars plana vitrec-tomy for various ocular diseases including macular holes. The main advantage of this technique is assisting the surgical maneuvers by visualization of the hyaloid.1 However, the direct effect of TA on the retina remains uncertain. We describe a case in which TA remained on the fovea after macular hole surgery.
