Economics of different herbicides for weed control in soybean in combination with cultural method of weed control.

A field experiment was conducted at farm of Zonal Agricultural Research Station, CVZ, Yavatmal (Maharashtra) during 2007-08 to 2009-10 to study the economics of different herbicides for weed control in soybean in combination with cultural method of weed control. From three years' pooled data, it was revealed that weed-free check (2 hoeings+2 hand-weedings) recorded highest gross monetary returns, net monetary returns and benefit:cost ratio. Among integrated treatments, these parameters were numerically highest in post-emergence application of imazethapyr @ 75 g a. i./ha at 10 DAS+one hoeing at 25 DAS (T₆). Cost of cultivation was lowest in unweeded control, whereas highest in weed-free check (T₉).
