摘要

Field studies were conducted in Andhra Pradesh, India, during the 2005 kharif season, to determine the genetic parameters of 12 quantitative traits including seed yield in 50 pigeon pea genotypes. Wide genetic variation was observed for number of pods, seed yield, plant spread, raceme length and plant height. A narrow magnitude of difference between PCV and GCV was observed for number of pods per plant, plant height and primary and secondary branches per plant. High heritability accompanied with high genetic advance was observed for number of pods per plant, seed raceme length and plant spread. Major stress should be given for these characters while selecting the superior pigeon pea.
