In an experiment conducted with groundnut cv. MH-2 during the kharif seasons of 2002-04, five treatments of weed control (weedy control, one hand weeding (HW) at 30 days after sowing (DAS), one HW at 20 DAS+mulching, 2 HW at 20 and 40 DAS and fluchloralin at 1 kg/ha as pre-planting incorporation) in the main plot and P (0, 40 and 80 kg/ha) and S (0, 30 and 60 kg/ha) application in the subplot were tested. The significantly highest yield was obtained with P and S application at 40 and 30 kg/ha, respectively. However, a higher N uptake response was observed up to 60 kg S/ha. Significantly the highest uptakes of N, P and K was recorded with HW at 20 and 40 DAS.
