Methods for controlling gloss in photopolymerised coatings films and surfaces

Polymer films and surfaces are used to provide protection and/or desirable surface properties. Specific applications require control of gloss, such as high gloss finishes in the automotive industry. Low gloss is often required in other industries, such as on wood products i.e. flooring and furniture. Control of gloss levels is also important in applications, such as displays and optical components. Traditionally the inclusion of fillers or, post-polymerisation, mechanical or chemical processing steps are used to control gloss levels.
