With the Battery Regulations coming into force at the start of this month, BERR, Defra and the devolved administrations have published guidance making it clear to everyone involved in the system exactly what is expected of them. While producers will not become financially responsible for collecting batteries until January 1 2010, the guidance makes clear that there is plenty for both them and those looking to set up compliance schemes to do before then.
