Viridor’s first solar park begins operations

Viridor’s frst solar park, located on its closed landfll site in Westbury, Wiltshire, is now operational. The landfll took its last waste in 2004 and has since been fully restored to grassland. The solar park, which is on the northern part of the site, covers seven hectares and is designed to export 3,200MWh of electricity per annum to the National Grid. Featuring 12,780 panels, the park was built and installed for Viridor by Solar Century.
