Biology: a field in need of a community culture.

The main subject matter of this editorial will, at first sight, seem distinctly off-topic for Rejuvenation Research: It is mathematics, or more specifically, theoretical computer science. I hope you will bear with me.This past August, a mathematician announced-or, to be more precise, distributed to a small number of colleagues, one of whom distributed it further-a proposed proof of arguably the single most high-profile conjecture in computer science, that "P≠ NP." Interested readers who do not know what this means can discover it easily enough online, so I will not elaborate on what the conjecture actually is.
