SCHMIDT&HEINZMANN of Bruchsal,Germany,says its Fiber Dosing and Cutting(FiDoCut)system offers product-specific lengths for cutting ductile chemical and natural fibres used in composite manufacturing.The company says its system enables slicing of"all fibres we know",both chemical andnatural,including aramid,carbon fibres,glass fibres,flax,sisal and jute.Schmidt&Heinzmann did not provide specific examples,but said fibres cut by FiDoCut could be used for industries including plastics and textile,and that it may be possible to create new products using a fibre mix of various materials.
