Portable air conditioning hire is buoyant, thanks to the unpredictability of the British weather. The hire market for portable air conditioning equipment is thriving - between 2006 and 2007 it grew as much as 10 per cent and currently stands at around ￡35 million. There are a number of factors that could be attributable to this inflation-busting growth, some obvious and others not so. Demand fuels demand and as a society we are growing to expect more because we are exposed to more air-conditioned spaces such as cars, shops and hotels. Naturally, employers are keen to keep their office workforce working at optimum pace and this involves keeping temperatures at a constant, cool rate.
