THE CONVERGING OF THE PHASE-OUT OF R22 WITH THE CURRENT ECONOMIC RECESSION has presented owners of large air conditioning systems with a dilemma. Because if they decide they can't afford to do nothing, there is then the issue of whether they can afford to replace the equipment. For the owner of VRV and the VRF systems, the additional cost of replacing all the pipework to accommodate changes in refrigerant pressure adds a major weight to the cost of the project.
