Daikin offers cost-effective upgrade of R22 system

Alternative but cost effective solutions for air conditioning systems running on R22 are becoming urgently required ahead of the total ban on R22 which takes effect from 1 January 2015. While systems using R22 can still be used beyond that date, any maintenance or servicing activity cannot break into the refrigerant circuits, except where reclaim for disposal followed by system replacement is undertaken. However, with an estimated 45%-60% of all existing air conditioning systems running on R22 refrigerant, many organisations have relied on using recycled R22 (previously used in air conditioning systems) or reclaimed (chemically reprocessed R22 that has been recovered from any system), rather than opting for complete replacement.
