Compin's relationship with SNCF has reached an exciting era with the launch of the Atlantic TGV. COMPIN'S RELATIONSHIP with SNCF stretches back over 30 years. It first supplied seats for the experimental high-speed TGV 001 back in 1972 and then the TGV Paris South East in 1978. In 1983 France's national rail operator then launched engineering studies for a new seat for its Atlantic route TGV called 'coach', the aim of which was to retain the ergonomic benefits of the Paris South East seat while at the same time reducing vibration in a high-speed environment.
