A class act

Wrexham, Shropshire and Marylebone Railways knew what it was getting when it chose Atlantic Design to install catering services on its fleet. From its earliest days, open access operator Wrexham, Shropshire and Marylebone Railways (WSMR) pursued its bold vision for the trains that now deliver its passengei services between Wales and London. Rather than leasing its rolling stock, WSMR chose to buy a number of off-lease Mk 3 intercity vehicles and completely refit them to its own specifications, offering a premium quality passenger environment to attract leisure travellers and to tempt business users away from their executive cars. Although each train set has just three passenger vehicles (two standard class and one first class), WSMR's emphasis on quality is reflected in the trains' onboard facilities, which include a galley providing a full restaurant service for first-class passengers and a comprehensive bar and buffet service for standard-class passengers.
