Crowd control

摘要

Commuter train designers are coming up with clever ways to increase capacity without alienating passengers. With problems of capacity on commuter lines only increasing, the battle is on to optimise interior space, through trends such as continuous-articulated trains and fewer seats, and the onus on making crowded conditions more acceptable through atypical design mix of technology, ergonomics and psychology.
