Emirates Recycling: the world's largest C&D recycling operation

An immense plot of land surrounded by 20-metre high dykes is where all of Dubai's construction and demolition (C&D) waste will be recycled in the near future. Recycling International was the second media visitor - following the BBC World Service - to be guided around this vast triangular area, each side of which measures an incredible 3.3 kilometres. Here, Dubai's C&D waste will be converted mainly into road aggregate and asphalt.
