Dr. Shiaw-Min Hwang graduated in Agricultural Chemistry in 1982 with a BS degree, and in 1986 with an MS degree and obtained the PhD, in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, in 1994. He gained experience in scale up microbial fermentation and genetic engineering during 1986-1990 as an Associate Researcher at Culture Collection and Research Center (CCRC), Taiwan.Dr. Hwang started to set up the cell bank for CCRC, which then changed name as Bioresource Collection and Research Center (BCRC) in 2002. He is currently the Deputy Director of BCRC. Dr. Hwang is the author or co-author of more than 150 papers published in peer-reviewed journals and has 40 patents major in applications of cell culture (H-index Google Scholar: 35).
