Ottawa, ON-New proposed federal regulations will impose a measure of product stewardship on vendors of tetrachloroethylene, also known as perchloroethylene, or perc. The new requirements will apply only to dry-cleaning operations. According to Bob Douglas, President of Camford Information Services in Toronto, an authoritative publisher of chemical industry intelligence, approximately 44 percent of Canadian perc. consumption is attributable to the dry-cleaning industry.
