Species - oriented selection of genotypes in forage type Coix through stability analysis

Five genotypes of Coix selected from a preliminary evaluation in a station trial were tested in four specific environments in North East Zone during kharif, 2000. Out of five genotypes, four belonged to Coix aquatica Roxb, Hort, Beng, and remaining one hailed from Coix lacryma jobi, L., Observations recorded on green forage yield, dry matter and plant height were subjected to genotype (G) X environment (E) interaction anlaysis. Results indicated that G X E and G X E (linear) interactions were significant for green forage and G X E (linear) for dry matter yield. Stability analysis fevealed that Coix aquatica materials - KCA-2 followed by KCA-3 were stable genotypes over the environments.
