CME/Nymex July crude gained $1.89 to close at $99.59/bbl

July crude pushed past the $100 mark briefly during the session as the euro regained some footing against the dollar after July contract data showing confidence in German business. Early forecasts were calling for a 1.2 million barrel slide in US crude inventories.
