摘要

I'm the kind of gardener who likes to cut most perennials to the ground for the winter. I leave a few that offer seeds for the birds, but mostly I want to get rid of everything so I don't have to touch disgustingly moldy, slimy foliage in the spring. After our long winters, that's a kick in the pants that I just don't need. But there's another upside, too. Crawling around with my clippers each fall, I get a good, close look at my plants. And that got me to thinking about how, every year, I write about some of the new plants that are being introduced. But I never write about how it actually works out with any of the plants that I try. Well, let me remedy that now by talking turkey about my experience with some of the new introductions that I, or others, have written about excitedly in the last couple of years.
