Some people thrive on home renovation and decoration; others love to find variety through cooking and experimenting with new ingredients. For me, its a tendency to go wild trying different varieties in the garden each year. Eighteen-inch heirloom cucumbers, pole beans that came over on the Mayflower, purple Dragon carrots— they're all fresh fodder for my gleeful green thumb. That's why it didn't surprise anyone when I embarked on a new gardening adventure last summer:growing blue vegetables.
