Ichthys moves forward

Japanese upstream group Inpex and itsjoint venture partner Total have reacheda final investment decision (FID) on the$34bn, 8.4mn t/yr Ichthys LNG venturein Australia’s Northern Territory.The Ichthys project will extract gasand natural gas liquids (NGLs) from theBrowse basin offshore Western Australiaand pipe it almost 890km to a liquefac-tion plant at Darwin in the NorthernTerritory. It will produce a massive 1.6mnt/yr of LPG.
