Enteropathy-associatedT-cell lymphoma in childhood: a case report and review of the literature

Peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCLs) represent approxi- mately 10-15% of all pediatric non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHLs), with the vast majority of these being anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL); non-ALCL PTCLs account for only 1-2% of cases. Data in this age group are limited to a few case series and case reports; the outcome is difficult to estimate, but is inferior compared to more common pediat- ric NHL subtypes. Management of pediatric non-ALCL PTCL remains uncertain, and the role of high-dose therapy and autologous or allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell trans- plant (HSCT) is not clear. We describe herein the case of a child with enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma (EATL) managed at our center.
