Rust Stabilizing Surface Treatment for Weathering Steel (CUPTEN COAT M)

A new rust-stabilizing coating CUPTEN COAT M was developed. CUPTEN COAT M does not contain Cr and Pb compounds, and it has excellent performances to prevent rust flowing out and Cl ion penetrating into coating film. It has also good surface appearance for long time. In this paper, the concept of CUPTEN COAT M and evaluation results by membrane potential measurement, immersion test and weathering test are cussed.
