Brazil's back-up thermal plants to switch off as hydro reservoirs refill

Brazilian energy minister Edison Lobao has indicated that some of the country's back-up thermal power plants will be turned off following a recovery in hydro- power reservoir levels. But plants using domestic and Bolivian natural gas and LNG are likely to remain on line, with reservoir levels at their lowest since 2001, when Brazil was forced to ration energy.
