One of Colombia's two presidential frontrunners is ruling out an increase in oil sector taxes if he wins the 30 May elections. "New taxes would make the oil sector less competitive," Juan Manuel Santos, President Alvaro Uribe's former defence minister and candidate for the Social Party of National Unity, tells Argus. "On the contrary, the sector needs more incentives to sustain its long-term growth."
