Although we have some of the top universities in the world,it seems that the UK fails to create spin-out companies that are also successful businesses.This poor performance in knowledge transfer was highlighted in last year's Lambert Report:"There is a distinction between the creation of spin-outs per se ad the creation of spin-outs that create significant wealth."
